She wasn’t just my mother—she was my go-to, my cheerleader, my soft place to land. The silence left in her absence was deafening.

But one night, through tears and a late-night call with a dear friend, something shifted.

She asked, “Why don’t you start making candles? You and your mom always loved them.”

I didn’t know it then, but that moment would change everything.

What started as a simple act of distraction—melting wax, pouring into jars, picking out scents—became something much deeper. Candle-making gave me a sense of calm. It gave me ritual. It gave me a way to hold my mom close, even though she was no longer physically here.

Soon, I started making candles not just for myself, but for friends going through their own grief. Every candle I poured came with intention: for peace, for remembrance, for healing.
