Healing Through Light: How Candles Can Guide You Through Grief

Grief is a journey—one that feels lonely, heavy, and often overwhelming. If you've ever lost someone dear to you, you know that healing isn't linear. Some days, the weight of loss feels unbearable. Other days, you find small moments of peace.

This is exactly how I felt when I lost my mom in 2019. Even now, I remember that experience as if it were yesterday. My mom was the one person I could always count on—no matter what. We didn’t always see eye to eye, but when I truly needed her, she was there, cheering me on. She was my rock.

And then, suddenly, she was gone. The same person who brought me into this world, who walked beside me for 46 years, was no longer walking with me. I felt lost. Alone. Empty.

One night, at 1 a.m., I found myself in tears on the phone with a close friend, pouring my heart out. "I don’t know what to do with myself," I told her. "I feel lost."

She paused for a moment, then said something that changed everything: "Why don’t you start making candles? You and your mom always loved them."

That single suggestion sparked something inside me. From that moment on, I turned my pain into purpose—transforming my grief into something beautiful, something healing. This is how my candle-making journey began.

Through the soft glow of candlelight, I found comfort. I found a connection. And now, I want to share that healing with you.
